Dundee Township administers a program that provides monthly financial assistance to residents living within the Township who:
a) are not eligible for any other state or federal assistance programs and
b) who do not have adequate income or resources to provide for their own basic needs.
Any township resident, 18 years or older, who is either a U.S. citizen or a legal alien (as defined by the General Assistance program) is eligible. The program is primarily for those adults without minor children, without adequate income, and who are ineligible for any other monetary form of assistance.
Dundee Township and all other Illinois Townships are required by the State of Illinois to levy taxes and to administer a general assistance program for their residents.
Please call 847-428-8092 x4 to learn more about the Township's General Assistance program and to schedule an appointment to apply.
Dundee Township provides financial assistance to township residents with potentially life-threatening situations such as an eviction notice on an apartment lease or a notice of disconnection for a utility bill.
Currently, this program is unable to assist with situations such as first month's rent, security deposits, or current month's utility bills.
All applicants must meet financial requirements including having a source of income (job, child support, etc.) for the previous 30 days.
Residents can only qualify for emergency assistance once every 18 months.
